We'll see you next year!
A bigger perspective, a detailed conversation.
A chance to catch up on the industry, with old friends, with new contacts.
A Day to celebrate what we love to do: We paint cars!
That was FOCUS 2014!
DSCT thanks everyone that came together May 1 at the MSU Center in Troy and participated to make it such a great event:
We’ve added some photos and comments to this website to help remember the day…
What a great line-up of speakers and topics! The trouble with two tracks of speakers is you can’t be in both rooms at the same time. If you want to follow up with a specific speaker, contact information is on the Speaker tab.
Our favorite part was when someone asked Jim deVries about a specific slide that appeared in the early part of his talk. Jim wasn’t exactly sure where that slide was in the deck but the audience knew and guided him to it to continue the discussion. An engaged audience that was eager to discuss how OEM strategy around light-weighting is going to affect its business! A great talk and great discussion!
The panel discussion tied directly into this year’s theme of “ROI: Return of/on Innovation” and was the highlight of the day for many attendees. The discussion about how to organize for and inspire Innovation could have gone on for much longer… and we hope to continue it at a future DSCT event! Thanks again to the panelists and to the session moderator, Jamil Baghdachi.
We returned to the basics of formulating for waterborne and Solventborne coatings in this year’s Tutorials and the response was a full room for each session. Give us feedback on what tutorial topics we should have in the future.
Blessed is the man who plants trees so that future generations will enjoy them! DSCT is committed to supporting coatings education and to encouraging young scientists to participate and engage with Industry. Thanks and Congratulations to all the presenters and especially to Banafsheh Shabani, Mahshid Niknahad, and Viktoria Tager who were selected as having the best posters.
DSCT continues to work with Center for Creative Studies to promote color design that enhances the impact of automotive design. This year’s student design posters were all winners! Congratulations to Orkodiy Okhman, Keunhyuk Choi, and Paul Mutter for special recognition in the form of scholarship awards!
